Board of Directors

The CMED (Pvt) Ltd Board consists of seven board members as follows :

Mr A. Kamhunga (Board Chairman)
Mr Albert Kamhunga is the Managing Director of Manica Zimbabwe, where he is also a Board member. He also sits on the Southern African Railway Association (SARA) Board and was the Chairman of the inaugural CMED (Private) Limited Board whose term of office spanned from 2001 to 2004. Mr Kamhunga has a long involvement in transport management and logistics.
Prior to Manica Albert worked for the National Railways of Zimbabwe from 1980 -1994 during which period he rose through the ranks to the position Assistant General Manager responsible for Marketing and Operations. He left NRZ to join his current employer as a Divisional General Manager in 1994. He has served Manica in various senior management capacities up to 1997 when he was promoted to country General Manager and Board member. In 2000 Mr Kamhunga was appointed to his current post of Managing Director of Manica Zimbabwe Limited.
Albert is a holder of an Honours degree in Business Studies (BBS) attained at the University of Zimbabwe in 1980, member of the Chartered Institute of Transport, UK, attained in 1985 and an Alumni of INSEAD, the European Institute of Business Management, France. He is currently on his project with UNISA in completion of his Masters in Business Leadership degree. He is married to Rudorwashe and they have four children - three sons and one daughter. He brings extensive public and private sector experience to the CMED Board.
Mr. P Mhike- The Vice Chairman
Mr P. Mhike is the Group Loss Control Manager at ZESA Holdings (Private) Limited since July 2004. However, this was not Mr Mhike’s first association with ZESA as he had been with the power utility since March 2001 as a Senior Risk Control Consultant. From September 1999 to July 2000 Phillip was the Chairman of the Interim Management Team that ran the Central Mechanical Equipment Department, that rid the Department of corrupt elements then. Prior to that Mr Mhike had served in the Zimbabwe Republic Police from 1979 to 1999 rising through the ranks from a Patrol Officer to Deputy Commissioner of Police, a post he is renowned for.    
Phillip is a past Board member of CMED (Private) Ltd having served in that capacity during the period August 2007 to May 2009. He also served as a Board member of  Air Zimbabwe from 2005 to August 2007. Mr Mhike is a current/serving Commissioner on the Police Service Commission, charged with the responsibility of determining and reviewing conditions of service for the police force. Mr P. Mhike brings with him to CMED (Pvt) Ltd lots of managerial and professional experience especially in Risk management.
Mr Percy M. Toriro

Mr Percy Toriro is a Consultant in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, Local Government Advisory, Capacity Building, and Project Planning and Management. He consults through his firm as well as in an individual capacity. He also does work in the region through the Municipal Development Partnership for Eastern and Southern Africa. Mr Toriro has also worked for City of Harare for more than a decade in different capacities in Town Planning, Business Development, Research, as well as Public Relations. He was part of the team that led Harare’s Turnaround initiative.
Mr Toriro also served as a President of the Institute of Planners for two terms. He was a coordinator of the Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Stakeholders Forum for 5 years. He also served in the National Property Association, the Harare Land Committee, as well as the National Waste Management Forum. Mr Toriro is currently coordinating the Harare Greening Project on a voluntary basis. He also lectures in the School of Rural and Urban Planning at the University of Zimbabwe. He is also leading the Projects and Capacity Building Division at the Urban Development Corporation.
Mr Toriro holds a Bachelors Degree in Planning as well as a Masters Degree in Environmental Planning.

Mr George Antony Chigora
Mr George Anthony Chigora is a businessman and commercial farmer specialising in the production of tobacco, seed maize, commercial maize and soya beans.
George is the current Chairman of the NOCZIM Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the ZISCO Board. He also sits on the Mascho Board.
Mr George Chigora joined the civil service on 1 April 1980 as a Clerk and worked in various Ministries including Ministry of Agriculture, Defence, Transport, Higher Education and Finance where he rose through the ranks to the post Director, Public Sector Expenditure in the Government Treasury in 1995. He remained in that post until February 2000 when he resigned to join the Zimbabwe Iron and Steel Company (ZISCO) as Group Finance Director. George then joined TeleAccess as Chief Operating Officer responsible for finance, human resources, corporate affairs, business development, marketing and projects design and development.
For the periods October 2004 to April 2005 and July 2009 to March 2010, Mr Chigora was engaged by the Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) as Acting Chief Executive Officer.
Mr George Anthony Chigora is a holder of a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and FCIS.
He brings to CMED his vast Board membership experience.
Allowance Sango
Mr Allowance Sango is the Director of Transport Management in the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Infrastructural Development. He joined the then Ministry of Water and Energy in 1990 as an Administrative Officer before moving to Ministry of Transport on promotion as a Senior Administrative officer. Allowance then rose through the ranks to his current post having served as Registrar of CVR from 1998 to 2002 where he left a mark for spearheading the new number plate project, computerising the operations of CVR, entrenchment of business culture re-engineering in the organisation and uplifting of the CVR offices.
Allowance Sango is a holder of a BSc Sociology (Hons) degree obtained at the University of Zimbabwe. He is also a holder of certificates in Analysis and Planning of Development Projects and Middle Management Development Programme.
Mr Sango once served as an Interim Board member of ZINARA during the period 2006 to 2007. He is a current member of the Transport sector sub-committee on Indigenization, an Advisory Board member of the Zimbabwe Youth in farming Organisation, Committee member of the Tripartite Negotiation Forum and a  member of the Border Post Management Committee. CMED stands to benefit from Mr Sango’s vast experience in turnaround strategies.     
Sheila Nyagumbo-Mahere
Ms Sheila Nyagumbo-Mahere is an established and successful consultant and farmer. She is the Chairperson for the Morris T. Nyagumbo Foundation and Guest Lecturer at Women Law center and other women institutions.Sheila was a President appointed non-constituency Senator who was involved in the Parliamentary Legal Committee (Zimbabwe), Pan African Parliamentary Legal Committee (Regional) and the International Women’s Affairs (United Nations). She was also the National Executive Director of Musasa Project and the Harare Legal Project Centre. Ms S.R.C Nyagumbo-Mahere worked for the Ministry of Justice for ten years including being a Senior Magistrate up to 1997.Sheila is a holder of a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) UZ,  Bachelor of Laws Degree (Honours), Leicester, and a BEC National Diploma in Business Studies, Nottingham.Ms S.R.C. Nyagumbo-Mahere brings with her invaluable legal experience. She is blessed with three children.
Mrs Margireta Makuwaza
Mrs Margireta Makuwaza is the Director of Domestic and International Finance Department in the Ministry of Finance. She joined the civil service in 1986 as an Economist and rose through the ranks to her present position in 2006.
Margireta is a holder of a Master of Science Economics and a Bachelor of Economics degree both obtained at the University of Zimbabwe in 1998 and 1985 respectively.
Mrs Makuwaza is a past Non-Executive Director of the Agricultural Development Bank of Zimbabwe. She is a Trustee Member to the Zimbabwe Regional Disaster Alleviation Trust and Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the Government of Zimbabwe/UNICEF Programme Development and Monitoring Committee.
Mr D. Mhaka ( Managing Director)
mhaka Mr Davison Mhaka has degree in Mechanical Engineering, an MSc in Strategic Management (UK) and a Diploma in Business Management. He has worked for ZUPCO and Dunlop as an Engineering Management Trainee after which he became a Depot Engineer. He then served as a Provincial Manager at CMED progressing to become the General Manager for Transport Hire, to his current position of Managing Director of CMED (Private) Limited. Davison is married with two children and enjoys going to the gym in his spare time.
Board Committees The Board discharges its work through the Committee system. There are five Committees in place whose terms of reference are given below:-
